Supporting your child at any age with their sexual orientation and/or gender identity journey can be both joyous and difficult for loved ones. We’re here to support you.
This is a joint peer-support group hosted in partnership between Commons and Hillhurst United Church. Parents, guardians, caretakers, and grandparents from Commons are warmly welcomed to join.
Join us to share stories, connect, ask questions, and lend support to each other in a casual peer-led setting.
The group regularly meets online and occasionally in-person.
What We Offer

Monthly Gatherings: Regular peer support meetings held in-person, online via Zoom, or in a hybrid format (check specific meeting details for location/link).

Community Connection: Opportunities to join events with the broader 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Action & Advocacy: Attending events like Pride parades, rallies, and relevant community actions as a collective group.

Guest Speakers: Invited experts addressing key topics during select monthly meetings.

Resource Sharing: Access to curated guides, including local options for finding gender-affirming care in Calgary.
By joining this group, you will be receiving notifications of all meetings and special events.
All identities and walks of life are welcome - religious and non-religious. You do not have to be a member of Commons Church or Hillhurst United Church or any faith community to attend.
