Date: Saturday, June 6th
Time: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Location: Wasootch Ridge, Kananaskis (Meeting point details to be provided upon registration, but here's a GoogleMaps link)

What to Expect:

  • Sport Climbing Excitement: Experience the thrill of scaling 15-25m bolted routes with anchors at the top. No experience necessary - there are routes for all levels, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned climber.
  • Guidance and Instruction: No prior outdoor rock climbing experience, or you haven't done it in a while? No worries! We'll arrange for harness and shoe rentals and provide instruction.
  • Safety First: While we are experienced climbers and have taught others to rock climb before, please note that any sport, such as outdoor climbing, carries risks. We'll prioritize safety at all times.

What to Bring:

  • Weather-appropriate, comfortable clothing (mid-thigh shorts/pants or longer recommended)
  • Runners
  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Climbing or bike helmet (or let us know if you need one during the registration)
  • Bagged lunch
  • Lawn chair (optional)
  • Backpack to carry gear (approx. 15-minute walk over a rocky path to the climbing area)

Registration Information:

  • Space is limited to 20 participants, so secure your spot early!
  • Please indicate if you require harnesses, shoes, or helmets and specify sizes accordingly. (Rentals will be at no cost to you)
  • Let us know your rock climbing experience level: never done, indoor only, some outdoor, or very experienced.
  • More details and tips to come, as well as help with finding a ride if needed.
  • If you want more info before you sign up, email or text/call Angie Redecopp at amredecopp@gmail.com or 403-874-1310.
